Anne Moore Tiebel, age 97, went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 20, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. Anne Tiebel was born April 14, 1919, to her parents, Carl and Helen Moore in Conway, Arkansas. Anne, a graduate of Arkansas State Teachers' College, married the love of her life, the late Herbert Richard Tiebel, in 1943, and settled in Crossett to raise their family in 1952. Long time owners of Tiebel's Restaurant in Crossett, Anne also taught school for fourty two years including thirty seven years for the Crossett School District. Anne loved her family, her church, and many hobbies, including painting, bridge, traveling, knitting, attending her family's many sporting events, and spoiling her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren that she was so proud of.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Richard Tiebel; and two sisters, Helen Lucille Gray and Francis Gunnels.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Tiebel of Crossett; two grandsons, Richard Todd McMillan of Foreman, AR, and Robert Scott McMillan of Crossett; five great grandchildren, Andrew McMillan of Little Rock, Val McMillan Gaught of Crossett, Honey McMillan of Little Rock, Courtney Anne McMillan of Crossett, and Amber McMillan of Crossett; one honorary great grandchild, Tasia Deal; two great great grandsons, Tristan Carter Mercer and Braidyn Jay Smith of Crossett; and one niece, Anne Scott Winters of Fort Smith, AR.
A Memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25th, at the First United Methodist Church with Bro. Larry Williams officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials for Anne Tiebel may be made to the Hamburg Lady Lions Softball team in honor of Amber "Mowgli Lee" McMillan.
Services have been entrusted to Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.
