Bruce H. Gray

Bruce H. Gray, 72, of Crossett, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, at the Ashley County Medical Center.  He was born on January 9, 1945, to his parents Harley "Bud" and Ruby Burchell Gray.  He was a lifelong resident of Crossett and a member of the CHS class of 1963.  In 1971, Bruce was discharged from the U.S. Army Reserve where he served as a dental assistant and went on to work nearly 46 years for Georgia Pacific as a pipefitter.  He enjoyed fishing and deer, squirrel, and duck hunting and was a member of the Bay Ridge Hunting Club. 

His fun-loving, outgoing personality always kept him in the center of all conversations and his gentle and kind heart led him to frequently visit the sick and attend many visitations and funerals.  He was a genuine family man who loved his children and grandchildren along with his numerous friends and his dog named, Peggy. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harley Nathan "Bud" and Ruby Jewell Burchell Gray.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Fife Gray of Crossett; two sons, Kevin Gray of Katy, TX, and Steven Gray of Tyler, TX; two daughters, Angela Webb and Melissa “Missy” Bulloch, both of Crossett; one sister, Twylia Warlick and husband, James, of Sherwood, AR; eight grandchildren, Madison and Stephanie Gray, Trace and Emma Bulloch, and Joel, Christian “Bogie”, Brooke, and Macie Webb; and one great-granddaughter, Fynlee Williams.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 25th at the Medders Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Baker and Bro. Keith Boseman officiating, followed by an interment at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Doug Webb, Tony Blann, Dewey Carter, Riley Craig, Steven Roberts, John Grady Richards, Matthew Townley, and Douglas Wayne Neal.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 24th at Medders Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.
