Bruin H. Craig

Bruin H. Craig, 89, of Crossett, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, at his home.  He was born in Mist, Arkansas on August 11, 1927, to his parents, Frank and Annie Craig.  He survived the hardships of the depression and married his true love, Gussie True Bolin Craig, on September 22, 1945.   The same year, he enlisted into the United States Army in which he served proudly.  After the war, Bruin continued to work in the Pascagoula shipping yard in Mississippi then eventually went on to work for Georgia-Pacific as a beater room engineer until he retired after 44 years.  He was a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church and, with his bride, raised their four children to love the Lord by taking them to church every time the doors were opened.  His family was his greatest treasure in life, and the love of his family, God’s blessing to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Leroy and Annie Hartley Craig; one brother, Garland Craig; and six sisters, Winnie Oglesby, Elsie Bryant, Ione Blazier, Lavada Osbourne, Ruby Turner, and Jean Compton.

He is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Gussie True Craig of Crossett; two daughters, Wandza Black and husband Larry, and Vickie Moon and husband Tommy all of Crossett; two sons, Laderl Craig of Yazoo City, MS, and Riley Craig and wife Melinda of Hamburg; eight grandchildren, Barbie Robinson and husband Downey of Crossett, Wendy Taylor and husband Les of Lexington, KY, Jamie Craig and wife Katrina of Crossett, Amy Rathbun and husband John of Bentonville, Brian Craig and wife Cory of Hamburg, Bradley Craig and Sabrina Pritchard both of Crossett, and Karlena Brooks and husband Chris of Pflugerville, TX; two sisters, Vivian Thurman of Lawton, OK, and Norma Warren and husband Wade of Tawakoni, TX; along with twelve great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5th at Cloverdale Assembly of God Church, 132 Ashley Rd 15, in Crossett with Bro. Wes Miller and Bro. Scott Wheeler officiating, followed by an interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.  Pallbearers will be Jamie Craig, Brian Craig, Bradley Craig, Chris Brooks, Downey Robinson, Stetson Moon, Les Taylor, Robbie Craig, and John Rathbun.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4th at the church.
