Dewayne Jenkins Obituary

Dewayne “Buddy” Jenkins, 83, of Crossett, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett.  He was born February 18, 1932 to Arthur Lee “Tea” and Nellie Carter Jenkins in Crossett. He was a member of the Pine Street Church of Christ, and a lifelong resident of Ashley County who loved to hunt and fish.  Mr. Jenkins retired from Georgia Pacific as a Millwright and was the first employee to reach 50 years of service at the Georgia Pacific Crossett Paper Mill.

He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Paul, Panzie, Edward, Troy, Roy, and Brutus Jenkins; and four sisters, Fredia Mae Thomas, Erma Lee Jenkins, Lois Marie Rietzell and Jeanette Cox.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice Pahal Jenkins of Crossett; one son, David Wayne Jenkins of Crossett; one daughter, Lisa Jenkins Reed and husband Alan of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Dennie Jenkins and wife Sybil of Hamburg, and Linwood Jenkins and wife Audrey, of Crossett; two Grandchildren, Rachel Kylie and Jacob Alan Reed, both of Houston, Texas.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in North Crossett with Bro. Charles Harris officiating, followed by an interment at Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mike Young, Michael Young, Ryan Jenkins, Jeff Jenkins, Greg Jenkins, Nicholas Jenkins, Todd Jenkins, and Bruce Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers are the elders and deacons of the Crossett Church of Christ.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
