Doyle Hugo “Butch” Pennington, 72, of Hamburg, died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Ashley County Medical Center. Mr. Pennington was born on June 22, 1943 to Coy Ed “Coot” and Mary Roberts Pennington in Crossett, Arkansas. He was a Mill Wright at Georgia Pacific for 46 years, and a member of South Main Baptist Church; his hobbies included hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Christopher Allen Pennington; two brothers, Charles and Lurrell Pennington.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Glenda Lanier Pennington of Hamburg; a son, Tim Pennington and wife Sherry of El Dorado; a daughter, Tonya Gail Bissell and husband Henry of Hamburg; eleven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at South Main Baptist Church of Crossett with pastor Lyle Hern officiating with burial following at Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers are Zach Childress, Lane Childress, Joe Chambliss , Austin McKoin, Casey Pullin and Johnathon Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers are Carl Keller and Eddie Ray Hughes. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday December 28th at South Main Baptist Church.
