Earnestine (Wilson) Jones

Earnestine Wilson Jones, 85, of Crossett, passed away on Monday, June 15th in West Monroe, LA.  She was born August 15, 1929 to the late Minnie and Moses Wilson in El Dorado, AR.

She was a faithful member of Gates Chapel AME Church for 60+ years and a member of Stewardess II.

Earnestine was united in holy matrimony to the late Tyree “Tiger” Jones in 1946 and worked many years as a cook at Tiebel’s Café until she retired.  She was a loving, devoted and hard working mother and grandmother who enjoyed sports and working in her flower garden.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by ten siblings and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Jones, Jacqueline Dawkins, and Patricia Cox and husband Carl, all of Crossett, and Shelia Benson and husband Stephen of Sherwood, AR; three sons, Richard Charles Jones and wife Mary, Archie Jones, and Marvin Jones and wife Rosie, all of Crossett; one brother, Freddie Wilson and wife Verna of El Dorado; one sister, Jessie Eller of San Maria, CA, along with eighteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.

Her memory will also be cherished by a host of relatives and friends.

A Home Going Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19th at Gates Chapel AME Church, 305 W 3rd Ave, in Crossett with Pastor Harriel D. White III officiating followed by an interment at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.

A Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18th at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W in North Crossett.
