Mr. Edward Lloyd Watson, age 75, of Crossett, died Thursday March 19, 2015 in Greenville, MS. He was born April 4, 1939 to Rosa Streeter, and James L. Watson Sr. in Crossett. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Mr. Watson was a 1957 graduate of T.W. Daniel High School, a former employee of Wal-Mart, and Georgia-Pacific, and a member of Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church in Crossett.
He is preceded in death by his father; one brother, James L. Watson Jr.; and one sister, Louise Penn.
He is survived by his mother, Rosa Streeter Watson of Crossett; one son, Gregory Watson and wife Angelia of Houston, TX; three daughters, Marcia Kidd and husband Gordon of Crossett, LaJoyce James of Crossett, and Veronica Watson Edwards and husband Sherwood of Pine Bluff; one brother, Ronald Watson and wife Deloris of Crossett; one sister, Catherine Jones of Youngstown, Ohio; two nieces, Adrienne and Acelyn Barefield both of Texarkana, Texas; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives, loved ones, and friends.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Harriel D. White III officiating with burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett. Pallbearers will be Gregory Watson, Christian Kidd, Sr., Robert Tucker, Jr., Joseph Bivens, Brandon Jones and Cornell Brown.
Visitation will be Friday, March 27, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Medders Funeral Home.
