Fred Tutt Obituary

Fred Leslie Tutt, age 64, of Crossett passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Ashley County Medical Center.  He was born on July 18, 1952, in Camden, Arkansas to his parents, Fred and Vera Gills Tutt.  He was a 1972 graduate of Stephens High School and a 1974 graduate of SAU Tech.   Soon after graduation, he began his 44-year career with Georgia Pacific as an electrician and his passion for helping others along with his leadership skills eventually led him to become the Fire Chief for the Unity Frost Prairie Fire Department.  His other prestigious titles included Sunday School Director and Chairman of Deacons at his beloved church, South Main Baptist, and member and Adjutant of the Monroe SCV Camp 1444.  He met and married his sweetheart, Anna Nelsene, in 1992, which he loved with all of his heart, and suddenly became a husband, father, and grandfather.  With his quiet, loving, and often humorous personality he stepped into the roles with ease and became the patriarch and Christian role model for the family.  He was a man of integrity who spoke wisely and loved unconditionally.

He is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife, Anna Nelsene Tutt of Crossett; two daughters, Danita Neale and husband Thomas of Flower Mound, TX, and Tonya Kaye Burke of Shreveport, LA; two sons, Denzil Stephenson and wife Angela of Fort Worth, TX, and Daniel Stephenson of Alexander, AR; his sister, Marie Randall and husband Jon of Camden; his brother, Roy Dean Tutt and wife Elsa of League City, TX; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 26th at the South Main Baptist Church, 2801 South Main St., Crossett with Pastor Lyle Hern officiating, followed by an interment at Buena Vista Cemetery in Camden, AR under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Robin Bailey, Royce Swaim, Thomas Taylor, Dan Kersey, Earl Murphy, and Johnny Gathright.  Honorary Pallbearers are the Unity Frost Prairie Fire Department, Fred’s G.P. Co-workers, Ray Whitehead, and Mike Vought.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett.
