Gene Hogan Deal, 79, of Crossett, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the UAMS Hospital in Little Rock. He was born on November 27, 1936, to Ozell and Louise Deal in Crossett where he lived most of his life. He was an active member of North Crossett First Baptist Church and spent the majority of his career working as a painting contractor until his retirement in 2004. He absolutely loved his fishing, but every Tuesday afternoon was reserved for “men’s coffee”.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ozell Deal and Carrie Louise Haley Deal; and two brothers, Bobby Joe and McRae Deal.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Glenda Pepper Deal of Crossett; two daughters, Barbie Trotter of Siloam Springs, and Leigh Ann Mason and husband Larry of Crossett; one step-son, Patrick Adam Davis of Warner Robbins, GA; one aunt, Mary Ruth Cozine of Monroe, LA; two grandchildren, Ross Trotter and wife Blair of Fayetteville, and Haley Beth Spencer and husband Josh of Siloam Springs; and one great-grandchild, Hudson Ross Spencer also of Siloam Springs.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 24th at the North Crossett First Baptist Church, 1035 Hwy 133 N, in Crossett, with Pastor Robin Allen officiating.
A Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:30 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the North Crossett First Baptist Church building fund.
Services have been entrusted to Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.
