Gloria Bell Schoonover, 68, of Huttig, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the Crossett Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Neelyville, MO on March 20, 1948, to her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Greenfield, but lived most of her life in Huttig, AR very near her church, Litroe Baptist, where she was a member and Sunday School Teacher. She married her sweetheart, Mike Schoonover in early 1969 and worked for nearly twenty years as an Account Analyst for Centurylink. Ms. Gloria enjoyed reading, sketching, painting, participating in her church activities, and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Warren Greenfield and Dorothy Malone Greenfield; her husband, Michael W. Schoonover; and one sister, Mitzi E. Carpenter.
She is survived by two daughters, Sondra Hamilton of Crossett, and Brittney Gathright and husband Jared of Edmond, OK; one son, Wayne Schoonover of Huttig; one sister, Brenda K. McHenry and husband Allen of Griffin, GA; one brother, Michael Greenfield of Sadie, LA; one brother-in-law, Glen Carpenter of Hamburg; a special caregiver and niece, Candie Stafford of West Monroe, LA; and five grandchildren, Colby, Savannah, Warren, Madison, and Natalie.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20th at Union Cemetery in Marion, LA with Bro. Lloyd Townsend officiating.
Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. at the cemetery prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
