Jack E. Jordan, Jr. “Buddy”, 60, of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the Crossett Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 29, 1957, to his parents, Jack E., Sr., and Betty Ann Sanders Jordan. He worked as a Line Mechanic for Jr. Meeks Chevrolet for 29 years and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hamburg. Buddy enjoyed playing his acoustic guitar and fishing, but most importantly, spending quality time with his family and grandchildren. He was an honest man, who never hesitated to reach out to help anyone in need.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of eleven years, Janice Marie Elton Jordan, of Crossett; one daughter, Jackie Roberts of Hiram, GA; two step-sons, Amon and Hardy Johnson of Crossett; one brother, Tim Jordan and wife Laura of Crossett; six grandchildren, Haven and Axton Roberts, and Sarah, Liza, Easton, and McCartney Johnson; three nieces, Shann Carpenter, Amanda Miller, and Tami Jordan; five great-nieces; two great-nephews; and his fur baby, "Bear Dog".
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 1st, at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett with Pastor Danny Merriweather officiating, followed by an interment at Egypt Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Robert Leigh, Tony Juarez, Philip Wisecarver, Jerry Laing, Jason Rainey, and Russ Meeks. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Kelley and Kip Carter.
Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 31st, at Medders Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society through our local Relay for Life.
