Julia Marie Rivers Cantillo, 53, passed away surrounded by family on January 3, 2016 in Mobile, Alabama after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born in Crossett, Arkansas on September 2, 1962. She was a 1980 graduate of Crossett High School, and then graduated in 1986 from Louisiana Tech University with a MBA and BS in quantitate analysts. She worked as a civil servant with the US Navy for 20 years and with NASA for 4 years then retired after 24 years of distinguished service. She lived in Slidell, Louisiana for 15 years prior to moving to Mobile in 2014, and was a loving wife, step mother, sister and daughter.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wilburn “Willie” Rivers.
She is survived by her husband, Dominic J. Cantillo, Jr. of Mobile, AL; two step sons, Dominic Cantillo, III and wife Christina of Cambridge, MA and James Cantillo and wife Brittaney of Willis, TX; one step daughter, Jennifer Guerrerio and husband Daniel of Templeton, MA; her mother, Betty Rabb and step father Juan “Jay” Rabb of Crossett; two brothers, James Rivers and wife Pam of Benton, AR, and Tommy Rivers of Longview, AR; one sister, Linda Russell and husband Jeff of Crossett; two step brothers, Mike Rabb and wife Cindy of Harmony Grove, AR, and Brian Rabb and wife Kayla of Hamburg; a host of nieces and nephews, and her special K9 companion, Gino
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 7, at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett, AR.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, Jan. 8, at First Free Will Baptist Church, 1301 Mimosa St., Crossett, AR with Bro. Tim Ebarb officiating, followed by an interment at Eden Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
