Kaden " Brylee" Duncan- Helms

Kaden “Brylee” Duncan-Helms, age 12, of Dubberly, LA, formerly of Crossett, died Sunday, February 4, 2018.  He was born on December 20, 2005, in Monroe, LA, and was a 6th-grade student at Lakeside Junior-Senior High School in Sibley, LA.  Brylee was a straight “A” student who loved to read, and participated in, both, the Quiz Bowl and the Science Olympia.  Science was his favorite subject, and he had an interest in dinosaurs, often dreaming of being a paleontologist or an engineer.  He invented board games, liked to tell jokes and riddles to make people laugh, but most importantly, he had a big, caring heart, always offering to help-out anyone whenever he could.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Kayleb Helms; three grandparents, Bill Taunton, Thelma Duncan, and Don Wisbey; and two aunts, Belinda Kay Duncan and Debbie Duncan.

He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Helms and husband, Justin, of Dubberly, LA; eight siblings, Victoria Spillers and husband, Cody, of West Monroe, LA, Felicia Duncan, and Kyler Duncan both of Crossett, Carlie Shockley of Beekman, Kaitlyn Helms, Becca Helms, Natalee Dodd, and Konner Helms, all of Dubberly; grandparents, Marvin “Buddy” and Archolor Duncan of Crossett, and Carl and Sharon Helms of Ringgold, LA; one great-grandmother, Ollie Mae Taunton of Crossett; and one niece, Zaylie Claire; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 7th, at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett with Bro. Danny Merriweather officiating, followed by an interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Landon Watson, Carl Helms, Jason Helms, C.J. Davis, Gavin Woodall, Logon Patterson, Brian Pippen, and Jake Richardson.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Autism Speaks Organization.
