Katherine Oliva Billingsley, 94, of Crossett, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at her daughter’s residence. She was born on November 23, 1922, in Brooklyn, NY to her parents Leo and Katherine Oliva. She lived most of her life in New York and moved to Bastrop, LA in 1974. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bastrop and an Italian housewife who enjoyed cooking, but most of all loved taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis George Billingsley; three brothers, Leo Oliva, Johnny Oliva, and Anthony Oliva; one sister, Josephine Billingsley; and two sons-in-law, Don Green and Craig Huff, Sr.
She is survived by her four daughters; Kathi Davis of Terrell, TX, Carol Green of Bastrop, LA, Teresa Huff of Homer, LA, and Marie Stephenson and husband David of Crossett; one sister, Louise Amato of Springhill, FL; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6th, at Medders Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Elder Mark Singleman officiating followed by an interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, LA. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Bryan Singleman, Scott Singleman, Steven Davis, Kenny Shanks, Craig Huff, Jr., Lewis Huff, Justin Huff, Stephen Stephenson, Matthew Nubles, and James Nubles.
