Kendra Coody Obituary

Kendra McClain Coody, 54, of Crossett, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.  She was born May 12, 1963, to her parents, Edward “Eddie” and Eloise  McClain in Crossett where she lived all her life. She worked at Wal-Mart as a stocker for many years and was an active member of Zion Methodist Church.

Kendra enjoyed flower gardening, searching for antiques, and working on crafts, especially angels and crosses. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. You could find her most Friday nights cheering on the Eagles and enjoying the CHS band play.

Her family was everything to her. She was a firecracker and was always there to defend her loved ones and anyone else who was being tormented.  She possessed a caring soul and will not only be missed greatly by her family but by the countless others she took in as her own.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Phyllis Long

She is survived by two sons, Eric McClain and Aaron McClain Lowery both of Crossett; two sisters, Gina McClain of Crossett and Crystal McClain of Minden, LA; five brothers, Monte McClain and wife, Sheila, Ricky McClain and wife, Berniece, Todd McClain, and Keith McClain all of Crossett and Douglas McClain of Minden, LA; four grandchildren, Jaiden Lowery of Castleberry, FL, Gunner, Brody and Rhyann Lowery all of Crossett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 12th at Zion United Methodist Church, 631 Hwy 8 W. Hamburg AR, with Bro. Jimmy Bailey officiating followed by an internment at Zion Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Eric Stone, Corey Switzer, Corey Johnson, Carter Hinze, Chris Smith, and Cody Smith.

Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m., Saturday at the church.
