Lexie Phillips Clanton, 84, of Crossett, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. She was born September 26, 1932, in Centerpoint, Arkansas, to her parents, Vernon and Ida Cash Phillips. She was an active member of South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, the Ladies Auxiliary, a proud member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Ashley County Tractor Club. Her humble upbringing molded her into a gracious and hardworking Christian woman who loved and cared for her family and would do anything to help others. She enjoyed attending church, traveling with her family, helping with outdoor chores, and making biscuits every morning.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Edward, Ray, and Bobby Phillips.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Billy M. Clanton; one daughter, Pamala Diane Clanton; and one son, Billy M. Clanton, Jr. all three of Crossett; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 1st at South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church, 2201 South Main St, in Crossett with Pastor Don Justice officiating, followed by an interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Johnny Hayden, Paul Hayden, Jon Hayden, Caleb Walsh, Matthew Clanton, and Paul Morara.
Visitation will be from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
