Mary Opal Sutton Adcock West, 89, of Crossett, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Ashley County Medical Center. She was born May 12, 1926 to the late Ginny and Rhoda Bammer Sutton. Opal was a Christian, a life long resident of Crossett, and at the age of 61, she earned her GED. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, bird watching and loving on her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse “Dover” Adcock, and her second husband, Kenneth West; two sons, Doc Adcock and Andy Adcock; three sisters, Elizabeth Key, Joyce Boseman,and Genora Sullivan; two brothers, Oliver, and Ercel "Turtle" Sutton; and one grandson, Steven Paul Adcock. She is survived by five sons, Allen Adcock of Chicago, IL, Arnold Adcock and wife Nancy of Brunswick, GA, John Phillip Adcock and wife Theresa of Woodstock, GA, Billy Adcock of Crossett, Tony Adcock and wife Johnie Fay of Crossett; two stepsons, Robert West and wife Angie, and Jerry West; four sisters, Shirley Sharp, Margaret Ruffin, Cynthia Middlebrooks, and Lealor Lynn; one brother Johnny Sutton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; along with a host of friends and relatives.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 30th at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in North Crossett with Ginger Weems officiating, followed by an interment at Pinewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers are Scott Adcock, Jay Adcock, Sean Adcock, Timothy Adcock, Brandon Henry, and David King, Honorary Pallbearers are Mitchell Barnun, Arlen Adcock, Keegan Adcock, and Jesse Adcock.
