Mittie Pauline Rickman Hill, 97, of Crossett, passed away October 15, 2016, at Stonegate Villa Health & Rehabilitation. She was born in Crossett, Arkansas on February 6, 1919, to her parents, Robert Melton and Josiephine Maxwell Rickman. She was a lifelong resident of Crossett, having retired from Chase Bag Company on May 11, 1979, after 38 years of employment. She had been an active member of North Crossett First Baptist Church for 66 years, serving as a Children's Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, and choir member. She was always there for her family whether it was for a football game, a softball game, or a band or choir concert. She loved to cook, clean, sew, quilt, crochet, and work in her flower beds and vegetable garden. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Delmont Hill; a brother, J.T. Rickman; and four sisters, Lucille Watt, Lorene Byrd, Minnie Clark, and Nina Josey.
She is survived by a son, Wesley Lamar Hill and wife Leslie of Crossett; three brothers, Robert E. Rickman and Lexie Rickman both of Crossett, and James Edgar Rickman and wife Mary of Nixa, Missouri; two grandchildren, Abbey Ebarb and husband Phil of Sherwood, Arkansas and Andy Hill and wife Amber of Crossett; four great-grandchildren, Trib Ebarb of Little Rock, Toby Ebarb of Sherwood, Ethan Hill and Erin Hill, both of Crossett; and a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 17th at the North Crossett First Baptist Church, 1035 Highway 133 N, in Crossett, with Pastor Robin Allen officiating followed by an interment at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the North Crossett First Baptist Church.
