Nancy Tucker Obituary

Nancy Lou Jones Tucker, 75, of Crossett, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.  She was born on February 23, 1942, to her parents, Coby, and Vestia Mae Jones.  In 1960, she graduated from Crossett High School and in 1963, earned an ADN from Arkansas Baptist Nursing School.

Nancy was a member of Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church, a devoted child of God, and a strong Christian Matriarch to her family.  She loved and treated each of her children and grandchildren as her favorite while always placing them high above herself and continuing to point them toward God.  Her selfless soul was apparent in everything she did whether it was cooking for her church family every Wednesday night or the care that she gave to strangers whose path she crossed.

For 44 years, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Ashley County Medical Center.  Many days her eyes saw pain, her hands touched hearts, her heart felt brokenness, and her feet walked a thousand miles all for her patients without complaint.  She was given a gift by God and she gave it away freely to every patient along with the many health professionals that she inspired.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Coby, and Vestia Mae Shirron Jones; two sisters, Mary Jones, and Joyce Carter; and one nephew, Brent Carter.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold Allen Tucker of Crossett; three children, Tammy Leann Carter and husband, Todd, Tina Lenai Herrington and husband, Morris, and Timothy Allen Tucker all of Crossett; one sister, Becky Jones Coody and husband, Charlie, of Beekman, LA; six grandchildren, Whitney L. Gill and husband, Chris, of Crossett, Courtney L. Ferebee and husband, Parker, of Conway, Tucker and Thomas Carter, and Jaci and Trace Tucker all of Crossett; along with five great-grandchildren, Bryson, Alissa, and Cole Gill, and Cooper and Landry Ferebee.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17th at the Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Lloyd Gibbs, and Bro. Ray Hearron officiating, followed by an interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Tucker and Thomas Carter, Bryson and Cole Gill, Trace Tucker, Kayne and Caleb Coody, and Trent Carter.  Honorary pallbearers are Tanner Wells, Nick Courson, Michael Jenkins, Price Holt, Danny Courson, Steve Courson, James Alan Ford, Donny Walker, James Outlaw, Charlie Coody, Chris Gill, Parker Ferebee, Zachary Goodwin, Dillon Pence, Ron Tucker, Cooper Ferebee, Ronnie Tucker, and Mason Goodwin.
