Bobby Burt,Sr., age 76, of Hamburg, passed from this life on Thursday, November 19, surrounded by his children. He was born in Crossett on June 17, 1939 to his parents Neal and Myrtle Burt. A native of Ashley county, He was married to Sylvia Ann Rice Burt for 46 years. Together, they raised four children in the Milo community, instilling in them a love for the outdoors, laughter and hospitality for family and friends. He worked as a millwright for Georgia Pacific for 38 years, and will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, artistic and musical abilities, colorful stories, generous heart and his devotion to and great love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Neal and Myrtle Burt, his wife Sylvia Ann Rice Burt and a son Mitchell Burt.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brother Nicky Burt and wife Peggy; two daughters, Tammy Burt Burchfield and husband Randall, and Pollyanna Burt Elton and husband Neal, all of Hamburg; one son, Bob Burt and wife Tamara of Milton, Florida; three grandchildren, Chris Burt Streeter Davis and husband Aaron of Hamburg, Mitchell Burt of Pensacola, Florida and Sylvi Elton, also of Hamburg; three great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers are Nicky Burt, Randall Burchfield, Bob Burt, Neal Elton, Aaron Davis, Jeff Blankenship and Jim Meziere. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Skip Burt, Dale Streeter, Mitchell Burt, Ronny Rice, Junior Jeffers, Matthew Jeffers, Mark Ferrell, Roy Rodgers, Eddie Rowe, Burt Collins and all former coworkers from Georgia Pacific.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at Ashley County Medical Center, Dr. Erwin Espino, Generations, Dr. Althea Connelly and everyone who cared for daddy during his time of need. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21 at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W in North Crossett from 12 - 2 p.m. A Graveside service will follow immediately at Egypt Cemetery in Milo. Arrangements coordinated by Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.
