Ronnie Bowen Obituary

Ronnie Oneal Bowen, 63, of Crossett, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at his home surrounded by family.  He was born on November 5, 1954, and was a lifelong resident of Crossett.

He was a member of Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, the CHS Class of 1973, and proudly served ten years in the Arkansas National Guard.  Ronnie also worked 29 years as a truck driver for Georgia Pacific Chemical until his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed fishing but was an avid deer hunter and member of the Arkansas Trace Hunting Club.  He loved running his hunting dogs and telling tales of the deer he had killed, even the ones he had killed that may not have been under legal circumstances.  Ronnie was a kind-hearted friend to all who knew him who enjoyed visiting and joking around with others.  But above all, he was a family man who adored his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Don, and Betty Jane Ogden Yates.  He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Vickie Gail Tackett Bowen of Crossett; one son, Jarrod Bowen and wife, Brandy, of Milo; one daughter, Stacie Womack and husband, Joe, also of Milo; three sisters, Pam Abney and husband, Tim, of Crossett, Carolyn Sue Hendrix and husband, Robert, of West Monroe, LA, and Connie Herrington of Crossett; along with eight grandchildren, Tyler, Alli, Chloe, Paige, Presley, Noah, Lawson, and Laura Lee; and a host of other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 13th at the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, 765 Ashley Rd 70, Hamburg, with Pastors Josh Luellen and Carlton White officiating, followed by an interment at Promise Land Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Bryan Fields, Chad Hendrix, Ryan Abney, Blake Abney, Jeremy Laster, and Mark Troillet.  Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Miles, Doyle Coody, D.C. Dodd, Joey Meeks, and Eugene Burnett.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett.
