Shirley Curran Obituary

Shirley Ruth Curran,78, of Crossett, died Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Stonegate Villa in Crossett. She was born to the late Roy  William and Myrtle Inez Jackson on December 5, 1936 in Parkdale, Arkansas. She was retired from the Hamburg Shirt Factory with 28 years of service. She loved to read, working puzzles, and visiting with family, and friends. She was married to the late Elvin Curran, on January 17, 1955, and a member of the First United-Pentecostal Church in North Crossett.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband; one brother, Wilbert Jackson and two sisters, Narcil Jackson, and Martha Purvis.

She is survived by four sons; Charlie Curran and wife Deborah of Arkadelphia, Jimmy Curran and wife Tracey of Nunnelly, TN, Bobby Curran of Crossett, and Donnie Curran and wife Tina of Gurdon; two daughters, Kathy Norris and husband James, and Shirley Carter, both of Crossett. Three brothers, William Jackson and wife Ellen, of Crossett, Willie (Bill) Jackson and wife Brenda, of Warren, and Eugene Jackson and wife Wanda, of Anadalusia, AL; three sisters, Hazel White and Faye Stevens both of Crossett, and Geneva McQuillian, of Beekman, LA; along with 13 grandchildren and 19 great granchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United-Pentecostal Church with Bro. Larry Hickman officiating with burial in the Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers are Nathan Norris, Bubba Carter, Johnathon Carter, Brandon Fitch, Jason Thompson, and Jake Curran. Honorary Pallbearers are Harold Pruitt, Rusty Slayter, Clayton Pruitt, Donnie Swan and Jason Wilkins,
