Walter White Obituary

Walter Oliver White, 72, of Longview, AR passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, at his home. He was born in Portland, AR January 6, 1944, to his parents Oliver and Waurine White. Mr. White was a lifelong resident of Ashley County and married his loving wife, Linda Davis White, on June 12, 1970, at First Baptist Church in Fountain Hill. He was a Vietnam Veteran, a Purple Heart recipient, and a millwright for Georgia Pacific for 44 years.  He was an avid crappie fisherman who enjoyed deer and fox hunting, cooking and working in his vegetable garden.   He was a very selfless man who was always giving to others and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Waurine White and a brother Ira Jake White

His is survived by his wife , Linda Davis White of Longview; two daughters, Tiffany Lisemby and husband Scott of White Hall, and Karen Miles of Corpus Christie, TX; one son Kevin White and wife Lisa of Jackson, MS; three sisters, Sarah Henslee and husband Phil of Cedar Creek, TX, Rose Sayger and husband Buster of Crossett, and Mary McCormick and husband Scott also of Crossett; four granddaughters, Kelsey Lisemby, Genny White, Hollie Ott and Aja Miles; three grandsons, Ross Lisemby, Butch Gresham, and Tre Miles; and his best friend, Don Jackson, who was always there for him for Drs. appointments and anything else he needed.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10th, at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W. in Crossett with Bro. Eugene Howie officiating followed by an interment at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Mike White, Greg White, Sean McCormick, Jim Moffatt, Jimmy Davis and Frank Moffatt

Honorary Pallbearers are Dennie Jenkins, Don Jackson, James Miller, John David Carter, Mike Young, Hubert Riley, David Hollis, Don Fletcher, Donnie Ray Lowery and Jeff Walsh

Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at Medders Funeral Home
