Woodrow Forrest Obituary

 

 

Woodrow W. Forrest, 67, of Crossett, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at his daughter’s home in Heflin, LA.  He was born on April 18, 1949, in Crossett where he lived most of his life.  He was a Methodist and worked as a heavy machine operator for Saiia Construction Company for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his Arkansas Razorbacks play football.  He was a good man, always trying to help people the best way he could.  He loved cooking and entertaining friends and family, and had a laugh that was contagious.  He was a very hard worker, wonderful husband, great dad, and a grandfather whose most cherished moments were ones spent with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rayford Blondell Forrest and Myrtle Mae Maxwell Forrest; grandparents, Buford W. and Fannie Sue Stinson Maxwell, and Ranzy and Mary Frances Boatright Forrest; two brothers, Ranzy W. Forrest and James W. Smith; one sister, Amaryllis Rae Forrest Chunn; one brother-in-law, Harry N. Ferguson; one sister-In-law, Mary Blanche King Smith; and one nephew, James Scott Smith.

He is survived by, the love of his life, his wife, Judy Diane Forrest of Crossett; two daughters, Jammie Holland and husband Matthew of Heflin, LA, and Johnna Forrest of Indianola, MS; three brothers, Lester Fay Forrest of Crossett, Ronna Dean and wife Shirley of Crossett, and Willard Keith and wife Debbie of Parkdale; two sisters;  Mary Sue Ferguson of Crossett, and Donna Jean Coronado and husband John of West Monroe, LA; a brother-in-law, Billy Joe Chunn of Baskin, LA; four grandchildren, Lexie, Grace, Matti, and Tyler Holland all of Heflin, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20th, at Carlock Cemetery with Bro. Kenneth Watt officiating, under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 19th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in North Crossett.
