Alan Autry Obituary

Alan Dale Autry, 57, of Crossett, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at the UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born in Clinton, Arkansas on April 30, 1959. At the age of 12, he began his first job at the local grocery store, and then went on to work for 27 years as a Department Manager for Wal-Mart.  He married the love of his life, Sheila Mae Forman, on April 7, 1978 and together they lived in the same home in Crossett for over 30 years.  He had many hobbies including, working outside and tending to his chickens, taking his children fishing at the park, “winning” board games played against his family, and he especially loved to paint.  Music was also a big part of his life.  He enjoyed southern gospel music, was a fan of Jeff and Sheri Easter, and often enjoyed singing in church.  Alan was a very comical man, always acting silly to try to embarrass his kids.  He loved animals, especially his goldfish, Oscar, but most of all, Alan loved, Jesus, his Lord and Savior.  He always took time for worship and to read his Bible which he had read over 30 times.

He is preceded in death by his father, Delmar Ray Autry.

He is survived by his wife of thirty- eight years, Sheila Autry of Crossett; two daughters, Angela Gail Setzer and husband Troy of Dallas, TX and Charity Faith Langston of Crossett; one son,  Joshua Alan Autry also of Crossett; his mother, Leah Autry Shows of Rosenberg, TX; two brothers, Steven Ray Autry of Greeley, CO, and Michael Lee Autry of Rosenberg, TX; two sisters, Robin Renee Autry of Rosenberg, TX ,and Rhonda Gail Miller and husband Tracy of Santa Monica, CA; six grandchildren, Lance Alan Setzer, Alanna Rose Langston, Sandra Noelle Setzer, Gary Lee Setzer, Sophie Caroline Langston, Chantry William Levi Langston, and a special daughter Amanda Louise Amos.
