Albert Clyde McDonald, Jr., 77, of Crossett, passed away on May 12, 2019, at home surrounded by family. He was born on June 29, 1941, to his parents, Albert Clyde, Sr. and Zelma Alexander McDonald and was a lifelong resident of Crossett. In 1960, he graduated from CHS, earned his welding certification, and proudly served six years in the Army National Guard. He later began work at Georgia Pacific where he eventually retired as a millwright after forty-three years.
Clyde was a former Union Shop Steward who enjoyed fishing, hunting, drag racing, woodworking, and telling stories. He loved his family dearly, especially his great-grandchildren and was happiest when bouncing them on his knees.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant sister, Katherine McDonald. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Karen McDonald of Crossett; four children, Karen Gayle Robertson and husband, Glen, of Springhill, TN, Janet Gwen Pack and husband, Ricky, and Kenneth Roy McDonald and wife, Donna, all of Crossett, and Georgiana Lee North and husband, Austin, of West Monroe, LA; one sister, MaryAnn Davis and husband, Franklin, of Crossett; eight grandchildren, Hannah McDaniel, Russell Pack, Shaun and Josh Robertson, Abigail and Andrew McDonald, and Alexander and Amelia North; six great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Naomi, and Bethany McDaniel, Gunnar Pack, Nora Robertson, and Jonas Chambless.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 16th at Carlock Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Pack officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Gilbert, Freddie Guin, Religh Cristy, Mike Law, Ovid Switzer JR., and Jack Edwards.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15th at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett.
