Betty Deal Obituary

Betty Carolyn Deal, 74, of Crossett, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the Crossett Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on February 26, 1944, to her parents Carl Clinton, and Lois Mae Mercer.  She was a 1962 graduate of Crossett High School and a member of South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.

For over 35 years, she worked as a Licensed Realtor in the Crossett area, many of which were spent as a valued member of the Rawls Campbell Agency team.  Betty loved her town, and her career, and was a very hard worker.  She rarely met a stranger and enjoyed helping people find and purchase their new homes.

Betty also enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School at church, gardening, reading, yard sale hopping, and she cherished the time spent with her family at their camp on Lake Chicot.  She and James loved to fish and relax on the lake and often referred to the lake as their sanctuary.

Betty was a kind-hearted Christian woman who loved people and they loved her, but her favorites were her grandchildren whom she adored.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Deal; one son, Jason Deal; and one daughter, Dana Deal Ridener.  She is survived by one daughter, Angie Deal Meadows of Crossett; three grandsons, Brandon Wise and wife, Alyssia, of Crossett, Nick Meadows and wife, Kayla, of Bentonville, and Golden Meadows of Crossett; one granddaughter, Justine Ridener Reeves and husband, Zach, of Cabot; one brother, Gerald Mercer and wife, Myra, of Dermott; along with several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 10th at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett with Bro. Don Justice officiating, followed by an interment at Hamburg Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Monday, prior to the service.

Betty's family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Homecare for the special care given by their staff.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church and the UAMS Myeloma Institute in Betty's Memory.
