Donna Gail (Sanders) Rice

Donna Sanders Rice, 72, of Crossett died Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at her home. She was born in Warren, Arkansas on December 27, 1946, to her parents Bill and Jean Parnell Sanders.  Donna was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a 1964 graduate of Crossett High School, and a faithful member of Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church for 56 years. She worked at West Department Store and Spikes Drug Store before her diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease in 1985, which she battled for the next 34 years. Donna loved her family and her church family very much.  Her favorite pastimes were visiting with her children and grandchildren, working in her flower beds, and pursuing many different craft projects.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Keith Sanders; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Rice, and Jimmy Robinson and two sisters-in-law, Sandra Rice, and Nikki Rice. 

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dale Rice; one daughter Tammy Adams and husband, Crawford, of Hamburg, AR; one son, Ricky Rice of Crossett, AR; six grandchildren, Aimee Squyres, Casie Glennon, Klint Connor, Jacob Adams, Chris Rice, and Heather Rice; five great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Hailey, Kylan, Trace, and Rhyann; one brother, Bill Sanders and wife, Becky, of Corrigan, TX; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Rice and wife, Earlene, and Billy Rice; and two sisters-in-law Margaret Rice, and Kay Robinson all of Crossett.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6th at Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church, 116 East Church St. in North Crossett with Bro. Don Justice and Bro. Willie Thornhill officiating, followed by interment at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Johnnie Bolin, Mack Toler, Steven Bolin, Tommy Pearson, Pete Meeks, Dennis Banks, Kenneth McDougald, and Chuck McGinty.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 5th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett.
