Frank Wesley Rawls

Frank Wesley Rawls, 84, of Crossett, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rawls, Arkansas on February 1, 1933, to his parents William Fort and Ella Avon Rawls.  Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Robert Rawls; and one son-in-law, Jerry Wane Eldridge.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pat Underwood Rawls of Crossett; two sons, Donald Keith Rawls and wife, Diane, of Branson, MO, and Bill Rawls of Crossett; one daughter, Kimberly Nelson Eldridge of Crossett; seven grandchildren, Alicia Turley and husband, Bryan, of Heber Springs, AR; Frank Rawls and wife, Jana, of Marion, TX, Mandy Rawls of Crossett, Samantha Eldridge Sturgeon and husband, Seth, Cheyenne Eldridge, Cassidy Eldridge, and Hannah Rawls all of Crossett; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; and his mother-in-law, Lois Wise Underwood.

He was a 1950 graduate of Hamburg High School, a master electrician, and retired as an E & I Supervisor after 42 years with Georgia Pacific.  Frank’s community service included serving on the Quorum Court, District II for over 50 years, and being a member of the Ashley County Medical Center Board of Directors.  He was also a former board member and Sunday School teacher at the First Church of God, where he attended for 60 years.

Camping, fishing, gardening, and reading were some of the activities he enjoyed along with raising Angus and Saler cattle for more than 50 years.  However; following his retirement, he devoted his time to his family which he loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, August 27th at the First Church of God, 1501 Main St, in Crossett, with Pastors Mike Ebert and Randy Ivy, officiating, followed by an interment at Rawls Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Billy Bolin, Wayne Jordan, Darrell Wise, David Walker, Danny Smith, and Seth Sturgeon.  Honorary pallbearers are members of the Ashley County Quorum Court.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Saturday, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in North Crossett.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
