Gary L. Bridges

Gary Bridges, 63, of Crossett, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019, at the Oschner LSU Health Center in Shreveport, LA, after a brief illness. He was born in Portland, Arkansas, on August 6, 1956, to his parents, Billy Joe Bridges and Earnestine McCroy Boyd.  Gary spent most of his life in Crossett, where he worked as a truck driver for Steve Bolin’s trucking company for more than 20 years. 

Gary was generally a quiet person. He enjoyed being around his family, dancing, and listening to music.  He was a great father and family man who loved his children and grandchildren, and they loved him.  He will forever be remembered by his family as someone they could always count on.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Petunia Ann Bridges and Wanda Bond; one brother, Billy Ray Bridges; and one daughter, Misty Bridges.

He is survived by his wife, Laurene Bridges of Crossett; one daughter, Dusty Smith and husband, Ray, of Bastrop, LA; four step-sons, William Streeter and Preston Streeter and wife, Angel, both of Crossett, and Thomas Trim Jr. and wife, Christy, and David Bull both of Marion, LA; one adopted son, Garrett Vincent Bridges of Crossett; five step-daughters, Ginger Daniel and Laurie Boyd and husband, Downey, both of West Monroe, and Tonya Zeigler and Stacy Trim both of Marion, LA, and Dova Kemp and husband, Kyle, of Texas; two sisters, Julie Morgan and husband, Barry, of Crossett, and Janice Grayson of Star city; three grandchildren, Lacy Lynn Bridges, Camey Mathews, and Brady Mathews; along with numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 4th at Medders Funeral Home Chapel 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett with Pastor Carlton White, officiating followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be Sunday, November 3rd, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Medders Funeral Home.
