Linda (Davis) White

Nora “Linda” White, 72, of Longview, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Monticello, AR on July 27, 1945 to her parents, Robert Lee, and Velma Mae Grubbs Davis. 

She was a star basketball player and 1963 graduate of Fountain Hill High School and in 1967 she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the State College of Arkansas in Conway.  After receiving her degree, she married the love of her life and best friend, Walter White, and taught Home Economics for the Fountain Hill schools until her retirement in 1981.  Linda was a member of Egypt Missionary Baptist Church and a very honest, genuine, and selfless person.  She enjoyed listening to gospel music, shopping, helping others whenever she could, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter O. White; one brother, Eugene Davis; and one nephew, Robert Davis.  She is survived by two daughters, Tiffany Lisemby and husband, Scott, of Woodlawn, and Karen Miles of Kingsville, TX; one son, Kevin White and wife, Lisa, of Crossett; three sisters, Rose Sayger and husband, Buster, and Mary McCormick and husband, Scott, all of Crossett, and Sarah Hensley and husband, Phil, of Cedar Creek, TX; four granddaughters, Kelsey Lisemby, Genny White, Hollie Ott, and Aja Miles; and three grandsons, Ross Lisemby, Butch Gresham, and Tre Miles.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6th, at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett, with Bro. Gene Gregory officiating, followed by an interment at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are John Davis, Greg White, Mike White, Jim Moffatt, Philip Hensley, and Jeff Jenkins.  Honorary pallbearers are John Pennington, James Miller, Don Jackson, and Mike Barnett.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5th at the funeral home.
