Ruth Ann Bonnette, 82, of Crossett, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 21, 1937, to her parents, Ralph Harlen, and Hazel Marie Hobbs Toler. She was a lifelong resident of Crossett and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.
At her church, she volunteered wherever she was needed, including Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, and Nursery worker, where she had the opportunity to help raise lots of babies, and she was a member of the Autumn Club.
Ruth enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, collecting beanie babies, and cooking for her family, which she did amazingly well all except for her burnt rolls. She was an enthusiastic and organized carport sale shopper, who always followed a specific route for greater efficiency. She also required a considerable amount of coloring books to feed her desire for coloring, which she did often.
Ruth’s fun and sometimes, goofy, personality attracted everyone’s kids, and she adored every one of them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be forever missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of sixty-one years, Harold Dean Bonnette; one brother, Billy Ralph Toler; and her mother and father in-law, Lobelia Foy and A.K. Bonnette.
Her survivors include two daughters, Deanna Gilbert (Dana) of Hope, AR, and Tenetha Gay Bonnette of Pine Bluff, AR; one son, Scotty Alan Bonnette of Crossett; five grandchildren, Michelle Gilbert of Little Rock, Dana Nicole Umholtz (Curtis) of Conway, Bryan Bonnette (Emerald) of Crossett, Whitney Bonnette of Hot Springs, and Kali Medders (Dillon) of White Hall; and eight great-grandchildren, Carly, Carter, Connor, Isabella, Everly, Lane, Abbey, and Amelia; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett with Bro. Dan Bonnette and Bro. Jimmy Bonnette, officiating, followed by interment at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
