Alan Mark Riley

Alan Mark Riley, 66, of Crossett, passed away on February 2, 2025. He was born on March 10, 1958, to his parents, Robert Eldon Riley and Ruth Anderson Riley, in Liverpool, Ohio.

Alan earned his Bachelor of Science in Education degree from New Mexico State University and dedicated 40 years to teaching middle school math, shaping young minds in New Mexico as well as in Fordyce and Crossett, Arkansas.

Although sometimes gruff on the outside, Alan had a big sense of humor.  He was extremely intelligent, patient, and deeply caring and found joy in watching children grow and succeed, always encouraging their progress. With his easygoing nature and cultural adaptability, Alan made lasting connections wherever he went.

An animal lover and passionate sports fan, Alan especially loved the NFL, and was a devoted LA Rams fan. He also had a sweet tooth for Hershey Kisses and a fondness for Cherry Coke.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepson, Jeremey Hensley; one brother, David Riley; and one sister, Nancy Riley.

He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Pam Riley of Crossett; one daughter, Amanda Winkler (James) of Cresaptown, Maryland; one son, Mark Riley (Sharon) of Grants, New Mexico; and bonus children, Sam Clark (LaJuan), and Katie Gordon (Gregg) both of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Elizabeth Hobbs(Chris) of Phoenix, Arizona; along with 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held by his family at 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, February 11th, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Crossett with visitation from 2:30-3:30 p.m. prior.
