Annetta Edward Obituary

Annetta Edward, 66, of St. Croix, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Crossett, Arkansas.  She was born on September 29, 1955, in St. Lucia, to her parents Robert Angelo and Maria Sylvestre and soon after migrated with her family to St. Croix.

Annetta was a selfless woman who cared for others most of her life.  She was an exceptional farmer who could grow just about anything including beautiful flowers, vegetables which she sold at the local farmers market in St. Croix, and herbs which she used to prepare herbal medicines for anyone in need never saving any for herself.

She was sweet and fun-loving, always joking around and trying to make others smile, but never hesitating to speak her mind.  With her outgoing personality and her love for life, she enjoyed shopping, fishing, crabbing, cooking, dancing, and singing, but most of all, worshipping God.  She was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in St. Croix, but her love of worship was never restricted to just one religion.  She loved the God of all religions and tried to live a life that was pleasing to God.

She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jody Sylvestre; her mother, Maria Paschal; her father, Robert Angelo; one brother, David Sylvestre; and an adopted mother, Carmen Rouet.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew Edward, of St. Croix; six children, Leo Sylvestre of Houston, TX, Celza Brumley (Joey) of Crossett, AR, Gabriel Sylvestre of St. Lucia, Tamara Sylvestre (Carlos) of Bay Town, TX, Leroy Sylvestre (Olivia) also of Bay Town, and Ronald Sylvestre (Rebecca) of Williamsfield, OH; along with one brother Mike Sylvestre (Rose) of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Annelle Sylvestre of Killeen, TX, Frances Sylvestre of Atlanta, GA, and Rosanna Sylvestre of St. Croix; fourteen grandchildren, Leon, Theo, Daniel, Jeremy, Diana, Le-Chea, Lashauna, B.J., Cloe, Lashaun, Shanade, Lee, Tymami, and Azalea; five adopted sisters, Claudia, Rose, Jennifer, Prisca, Sylvia; and three adopted brothers, Chris, Anthony, and Victor.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 12th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Pastor Cindy Norman, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
