Annie Mae (Carter) Courson

Annie Mae Courson, 70, of Hamburg, passed away in Little Rock on Saturday, February 4, 2023. She was born on June 5, 1952, to her parents, Watson and Dorothy Smith Carter, and was a lifelong resident of Ashley County.

Annie enjoyed traveling, but she especially appreciated the important things in life, such as sitting and watching birds and squirrels, spoiling her fur baby, “Princess,” and spending quality time with her family., especially her daughter, who was the center of her world. 

She was a caring, fun-loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and companion who giggled often and loved big.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Courson, and two brothers, Billy and McCoy Carter.

She leaves behind two sons, Kevin Ross (Charity) of Morrilton, AR, and Shawn Barnett of Crossett; one daughter, Tiffani Blankenship (Brad), also of Crossett; two stepsons, Shane Courson (Ashley) of Mayflower, AR, and David Courson (Bianca) of Hamburg; and her loving companion, Tyman Allison of Hamburg; along with one sister, Doris Arnold of Watson Chapel, AR; two brothers, Jimmy Carter (Jerri), and Ken Carter both of Crossett; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her special fur baby, “Princess.”

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Rev. Bobby Courson and Rev. Toby Austin, officiating, followed by interment at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Todd Courson, Devin Ross, Bryan Bonnette, Brad Blankenship, Brady Blankenship and Tyman Allison. Honorary pallbearers are John Pennington, Alan Jackson, Toby Austin and Bobby Courson.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service.
