Ashley Jo Boykin, 41, of El Dorado, formerly of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. She was born on September 17, 1982, and was a 2000 graduate of Crossett High School.
Ashley was a devoted member of the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, where her faith in God was a cornerstone of her life. She faced overwhelming odds at times, but her strong belief and resilience allowed her to shine as a beacon of hope to all who knew her. Her faith, combined with her vibrant and magnetic personality, touched the lives of those fortunate enough to cross her path.
Ashley earned an associate degree in nursing from Louisiana Tech University, marking the beginning of a remarkable career in healthcare. Her passion for nursing, compassionate care, and dedication to her patients shone through in her work at St. Francis Medical Center in the ICU and Glenwood Medical Center in the Adult ICU, where she touched countless lives during her time there.
Outside of her profession, Ashley was a woman of many interests and talents. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, from cooking delectable dishes to exploring the aisles of her favorite stores while shopping. She also enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, and hunting. Her leisurely walks in the park provided her comfort, however, she cherished her family time above all else.
Ashley's quick wit and sense of humor were renowned among her friends and family, always ready to bring laughter into any room she entered. Her bubbly and infectious personality drew people close, making her a cherished companion to those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Roger Orr; two stepsisters, Mendy Gossett, and Sonya Orr; and one nephew, Brandon Hunter Jones.
She leaves behind two sons, Shaun McCallum of Monroe, LA, and Mason McCallum of Baton Rouge, LA; her fiancé, Joey Gilmore of El Dorado, AR; her parents, Bobby and Trisha Boykin, Jr. of Minden, LA, and Clyde and Debbie Farmer, of Crossett; along with two brothers, Deron Boykin (Kristah) of Redfield, AR, and Brian Farmer (Tammy) of Crossett; two sisters, Allison Howell (David) of Monroe, LA, and Hester Hickman of Crossett; two besties, McKenzie Stokes, and Chelsea Allen; and privileged to be “Lolli” to Oakley, Leighton, and Emily.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 30th, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1533 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Pastor Doug Hibbard, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
