Barbara Faye Swafford, 78, of Crossett, passed away September 27, 2018, at the Pinewood Health and Rehab Center in Crossett. She was born December 9, 1939, in Transylvania, LA to her parents Arlin and Ruby Ross. Faye was a 1958 graduate of Lake Providence High School, and in 1969, married Aaron “Joe” Swafford, and they remained together until his death in 2005. She was a member of North Crossett First Baptist Church and loved flowers, tending to all her houseplants, and loving on her beloved faithful dogs. During her life, she worked as a beautician, a telephone operator, and a cashier at the Minit Shop. She also enjoyed sitting with and assisting the elderly through Eldercare and will be remembered as a fun and loving person, who enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joe; her parents, Arlin and Ruby McLemore Ross; and two brothers-in-law, Marvin Johnson and William Riddle.
She is survived by her two sons, Phillip Ross and wife, Shelia, of Hamburg, and Richard Swafford of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; three sisters, Doris Bradley and husband, A.J., and Arlene Johnson both of Transylvania, LA, and Edith Riddle of Lake Providence, LA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, Oct 1, 2018, at the Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett with Bro. Keith Boseman officiating. Pallbearers are Mike Herrington, Tommy Rawls, Johnny Upshaw, Ray Harper, and Ronnie Rickman. The burial will be at Rolfe Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Medders Funeral Home chapel.
