Barbara Ann (McKinney) Womble

Barbara Ann Womble, 76, of Crossett, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024.  She was born in Warren, Arkansas on September 26, 1947, to her parents, Versle and Ardelia Harrelson McKinney and was a 1965 graduate of Warren High School.

Barbara’s career spanned various roles at First State Bank, First National Bank, and ultimately Wal-Mart, where she retired after several years of dedicated service.

Outside of work, Barbara found immense joy in her passions. She had a green thumb and spent countless hours tending to her flower garden, and she delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones.  However, nothing brought her more happiness than watching her grandchildren playing outside, especially around the pool.  Their laughter filled her heart with love and warmth.

Family trips to Panama City Beach were a tradition she eagerly looked forward to each year, especially since it was where she met her husband and soulmate, Johnny Womble, so many years ago.

Mostly, Barbara was a mild-mannered and kind-hearted soul who found contentment in the comforts of home. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she showered her pets with endless affection and care, but more than anything else, Barbara's greatest love was her family and her presence in their lives will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Johnny Carlton Womble.

She leaves behind one daughter, Michelle Womble Knight of Crossett; two sons, John Barry Womble (Dixie) of Joshua Tree, CA, and Ryan Womble of Crossett; and one brother, Ted McKinney (Maribel) of Ruston, LA; along with seven grandchildren, Roman Womble, Blake Shaw, Kirstie Shaw, Tristan Womble, Caleb Knight, Ashton Jenkins, and Easton Womble; and one great grandchild, Sakani Smith.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 5th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Bro. Wes Miller, officiating followed by interment at Hickory Grove Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 p.m., at the funeral home, Friday prior to the service.
