Betty Edmonsond Obituary

Betty Nell Edmonsond, 95, of Crossett, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024.  She was born on November 20, 1928, to her parents, Robert W.  and Lillian Holt Burnett, and was a lifelong resident of Ashley County.

Betty was a dedicated homemaker, pouring her love and warmth into the heart of her family. Her life was a testament to the values of commitment, kindness, and the joy found in simple pleasures. As a loving wife and mother, she created a home filled with laughter, love, and the sweet aroma of her cooking.

Betty's love for classical music was evident in the melodies that filled her home. Whether it was the gentle notes of a piano or the soaring strings of an orchestra, she found joy in timeless classical compositions. Alongside her passion for music, Betty channeled her creativity into painting, showcasing her artistic skills on canvas. Her artistic endeavors weren't confined to the world of visual arts alone; she also collaborated with her husband, Frank, breathing new life into aged furniture through their joint refurbishment projects.

Known for her warm and infectious smile, Betty had a friendly and welcoming demeanor that endeared her to everyone she met. She possessed a remarkable ability to transform acquaintances into lifelong friends, considering each person she encountered as part of her extended family.  To Betty, everyone was precious, and she carried a genuine love for humanity in her heart. Her generosity, kindness, and positive spirit left a mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Wherever she went, she easily made friends and embraced them with open arms, fostering a sense of belonging and warmth.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Frank Edmonsond.

She leaves behind four children, Nell Hamlin (Bruce) of North Little Rock, Robert “Bob” Edmonsond (Nita) of Crossett, Kathleen Case (Danny) of Harrison, AR, and John Edmonsond (Andrea) of Blytheville, AR; along with one sister, Bobbie Jean McDermott of New Jersey; thirteen grandchildren, Megann Edwards, Alex Hamlin, Joshua, Jacob, Joseph, Janna, and Judah Case, Daniel, Joel, and Nathan Edmonsond, Michael Merriweather, and Christa and Jeffery Carter; and eight great-grandchildren, Rory, Kaden, Kamri, Kassidy, Malachi, Silas, Morgan, and Makenzie.
