Betty Lou Wisecarver, 75, of Hamburg, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
On January 25, 1946, she was born to her parents, Alvin C. and Pauline Pruitt Riles. She was a graduate of Crossett High School and a lifelong resident of Ashley County.
For several years, Betty worked for Georgia Pacific as a lift truck driver in Tissue Shipping, but her most gratifying job was not driving a lift truck; it was caring for many of her family members when their health began to deteriorate. She never hesitated to step up to help anyone in need.
Betty enjoyed going antiquing, shopping yard sales, and cooking big dinners for her family. She could be loud and outspoken at times, but she was genuine and would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, William Ralph “Billy” Wisecarver, and one sister, Kathy Miles. She is survived by two daughters, Paula Wisecarver Kelley and husband, Terry, of Hamburg, and Jewel Lynn Wisecarver Carter and husband, Jim, of Vilonia, AR; one son, Robert Todd Wisecarver, of Hamburg; and one brother, Robert Alvin Riles of Crossett; along with five grandchildren, Katy, Lauren, Dillon, Roxanne, and Brooke; three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Jasmine, and Branch; and a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4, at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Crossett.
Services entrusted to Medders Funeral Home.
