"Billy" Boykin, Sr. Obituary

Billy Gaston Boykin, Sr. , age 86, of Monticello, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, all of whom he adored deeply.

Billy was born on February 25, 1940, to Willie G. and Grace Clary Boykin. He was a retired auto mechanic who enjoyed coon hunting and spending time working outdoors in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, Franklin, Roger, and Ronnie Boykin.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Diane Boykin; three sons, Billy Boykin, Jr. (Linda) of Monticello, Robert “Bobby” Boykin of Heber Springs, and Dana Boykin (Keli) of Monticello; nine cherished grandchildren, Patrick Boykin (Alexis), Brandon Boykin, Megan Gifford (Matthew), Chad Boykin (Jessica), Max Boykin, Payton Collins (Norman), Kaitlyn Chambers (Chris), Nathan Boykin (Summer), and Lana Boykin (Brenden); seventeen precious great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, one niece, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family has chosen to have a private, family-led memorial service. They would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all who have reached out during this time as they mourn the loss of their precious husband, father, and Papaw.

A very sincere thank you is extended to the faculty and staff of Chapel Woods Health and Rehabilitation in Warren, Arkansas, Hospice Care of El Dorado, and Medders Funeral Home of Monticello for the care and compassion shown to Billy during his time in their care.
