Billy Clark Obituary

Billy Gerald Clark, 83, of Crossett, passed away on October 3, 2019, at his home.  He was born in Monroe, Louisiana on November 9, 1935, and was a lifelong resident of Crossett.

He was a butcher by trade and after working many years at Dixie Dandy, he and his two sons opened Clark’s Grocery in 1983.  Working side by side as a family they served their patrons until they closed in 1998.

Billy was a hardworking man who could be a bit honory at times, but still enjoyed a little joking around.  He raised his sons wisely, teaching them the importance of hard work and family, and continued to supervise them on into adulthood.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking for his family, antique shopping with his sister, and collecting coins and sports cards.  He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Neil Clark; and one sister, Dorothy McCrory.

He is survived by two sons, Jerry Clark (Shelley) and Kenny Clark (Tina); and one sister, Alta Harrington (Billy) all of Crossett; along with eight grandchildren, Dusty, Danny, Kason, Breana, Bryan, Brianne, Brandon, and Tyler; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 6th at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett with Bro. Keith Boseman, officiating, followed by interment at Unity Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are David Dickerson, Ron Henry, Logan Harrington, Garrett Harrington, Jesse Harrington, and Steve Craig.  Honorary pallbearers are Monte McClain, Mike Herrington, and Jason Goodwin.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5th at Medders Funeral Home.
