Billy Charles Jenkins, 71, of Crossett, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was born on November 25, 1950, to his parents, Willie Herman and Myrtle Leen Watt Jenkins. He was a lifetime resident of Crossett and a devoted member of Magnolia Baptist Church.
Billy was fascinated with clocks, watching log trucks, and watching “The Price is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune,” which he rarely missed.
Most importantly, Billy was an ambassador of Christ, a true soldier of God who, without hesitation or fear, loved to tell others about Jesus. He read his Bible daily and could quote scriptures and entire chapters with ease. He worshipped and loved others with enthusiasm, and his love for Jesus spilled out into every song he sang and every hug he gave. He was a “fisher of men” and wore the title proudly.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and leaves behind five siblings, Jimmy Jenkins (Mary), Glen Jenkins (Elizabeth), Betty Williams (Owen) and David Jenkins, all of Crossett, and Peggy Adams (Mike) of Hamburg; along with his uncle Jap and aunt Lois Watt, and aunt Verda Mae Rogers of Mayflower, Arkansas; two special nephews, Jason, and Lane Williams; and a special niece, Jeanie Morgan along with a host of other beloved family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, at Magnolia Baptist Church, 822 Marias Saline Rd in Crossett with pastors Mike Griffith and Mike Chain officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Lane, Jason, and Colten Williams, Timmy Jenkins, Ken Jenkins, Jerry Morgan, Glen David Jenkins, and Randy Townley. Honorary pallbearers are Austin Williams, Larry Senn, Tommy Lamb, Brian Jenkins, the Magnolia Baptist Church Mens' Sunday School Class, and Billy’s cousins.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett.
