Bobby Lee Murphy, 62, of Hermitage, passed away on August 28, 2020. He was born on July 7, 1958, to his parents, Clarence Thomas and Janie Ann Thomas Murphy and was a resident of Ashley County most of his life.
For many years, Bobby was a truck driver and recently retired from Martin Trucking. During his free time, he enjoyed attending dirt track races, watching Chase Outlaw ride bulls, and watching sports, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks. Even while on his many road trips, he never missed a Razorback game and remained their #1 fan until his passing.
Bobby was an easy going, laid back family man with a big heart and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Janet Collier Murphy; five brothers, Melvin Lawrence Murphy, Raymond Lee Murphy, Thomas Riley Murphy, Earnest Dean Murphy, and Travis Gene Murphy; and one sister, Janie Ann Williams.
He is survived by his daughter, Brandy Nichole Anderson; one son, Tommy Mac Rice; two sisters, Chris Murphy Ferrell and Doris Murphy Rives; one brother, Norman Richard Murphy; and two grandsons, Caleb and Nick Anderson; along with one great-grandson, Gabriel Anderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A family led Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, at the Heart of God Ministries in Hamburg.
