Brenda Sue Braswell passed away on Tuesday, April 14th at the age of 76. She was born on August 14, 1949, in Bastrop, Louisiana.
Brenda had a funny disposition and could be known for speaking her mind, one may even say that she was strong-willed. She loved her family deeply, as well as her church family. She was a devoted member for 23 years at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was always doing what she could to help others and cherished sharing family stories with anyone who would listen. Brenda especially enjoyed spending time visiting with her family over meals. Most importantly she put her love for our Lord and Savior as priority in her life and wanted everyone else to know of his saving grace.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her parents, Rex and Leola Streeter McDougale.
Brenda is survived by her two daughters, Monica Rogers and Manda Jarnagin; her son, Mitchell Scarlett; three sisters, Connie Sanderlin, Linda Goins and Lisa McDougale; seven brothers, David McDougale, Rusty McCaughan, Donnie McCaughan, Gary McDougale, Terry McDougale, Pat McDougael and Rex McDougale, Jr.; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 25th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Berlin Road at 2:00 p.m., with Bro. Danny Merriweather officiating. Services entrusted to Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.
