Carolyn Anne Tiebel, age 76, left this world, surrounded by her family, on November 19, 2024. She was born on October 3, 1948, to Herbert and Anne Tiebel of Crossett.
After years of traveling as an Air Force wife, including a memorable time living abroad in Japan with two young children, Carolyn eventually made her home in Crossett. There, she devoted herself to raising her boys and inspiring young minds as a 7th-grade math teacher. Carolyn’s love for her family was boundless, and she extended that love to their friends, earning her the cherished title of “Grammy” to many.
Carolyn had a vast array of hobbies, including reading, playing cards, watching movies, traveling, and cheering on her favorite sports teams. Nothing brought her more joy and pride than attending her sons’ and grandchildren’s countless sporting events and she always enjoyed sharing stories about their talents with anyone who would listen.
A passionate shopper, Carolyn also enjoyed selecting clothes for her family, always eager to add her personal touch to their sense of style.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Richard Tiebel and Anne Moore Tiebel,
She leaves behind two sons, Richard Todd McMillan (Abby) of Foreman, AR, and Robert Scott McMillan (Christine) of Crossett; and one honorary daughter, Denise McMillan; along with seven grandchildren, Andrew McMillan (Natalie) of Little Rock, Val McMillan Gaught (Sean) of Crossett, Honey McMillan of Little Rock, Courtney Anne McMillan (Bryan) of Crossett, Amber (Dr Mowgli) McMillan of Los Angeles, and Richmond and Bonnie McMillan both of Foreman, AR; one honorary grandchild, Tasia Deal; and five great grandchildren, Tristan Carter Mercer, Braidyn Jay Smith, and Korbyn Jax Smith, all of Crossett; and Jolie Kate McMillan and Shade Andrew McMillan, both of Little Rock.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 24th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with George Autenreath, officiating.
Carolyn had an avid interest in psychology and was a big proponent of the study of mental health and improving its availability for all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the mental health organization of your choice.
