Cecil Franklin Streeter, Jr., 88, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was born on November 13, 1936, in Parkdale, Arkansas, to his parents, Cecil and Lucy Pack Streeter.
Cecil served his country with honor in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he began his professional journey sweeping floors in the service department. With perseverance, dedication, and a strong work ethic, he steadily climbed the ranks—eventually becoming head of the parts department and later serving as Senior Vice President, overseeing multiple companies across the region.
Cecil was a faithful member of Pine Street Church of Christ, where his strong faith and love for others were evident in everything he did. He deeply loved his church family and found great joy in his daily breakfast gatherings with friends at Andy’s and the lunches at the Senior Citizen Center.
He had a passion for woodworking, a sharp wit, and a joyful spirit. When younger, Cecil especially loved square dancing with his beloved wife, Shirley, and traveling with their dear friends, the Boyettes. Whether he was bush hogging the prairie or sharing a laugh, Cecil brought energy and heart to every moment. In the later years of Shirley’s life, he cared for her with incredible devotion, demonstrating the depth of his love and commitment.
Cecil cherished his family above all else and especially enjoyed talking “business” with his granddaughter’s husband, Dustin. He had a genuine love for people—never met a stranger and was always ready with a joke or a story to brighten someone’s day.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his lovely wife of sixty-five years, Shirley Harris Streeter; one son, Kenneth Franklin Streeter; and two sisters, Evelyn Avenell Judd and Marcel Otta Pugh.
He leaves behind one daughter, Kathy Sue Buono; and one brother, Jay Streeter; along with four grandchildren, Kristy Michelle Henson (Dustin), Melissa Adkins, Rachel Lynn Byrd (Tim), and Jon Franklin Buono; six great-grandchildren, Kaytlen Payne, Lewis “P.J.” Payne, Annabelle Henson, Evelyn Henson, TJ Byrd, and Kayla Byrd; and one great-great-grandson, Brennon Giles.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, June 6th at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett with Pastor Jerry Martin, officiating, followed by interment with military honors at Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Jay Streeter, Thomas Harris, Steve Dodson, Dustin Henson, Tom Arnn and Lewis Payne.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
