Charles Stell Harmon, 78, of Crossett, Arkansas, passed away on February 9, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 27, 1945, in Conway, Arkansas, to his parents, Charles Henry and Little Vick Thornton Harmon.
Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he exhibited unwavering dedication and courage as a Vietnam veteran.
Devoted to his faith, Charles was an active member of the First Church of God, finding peace and community in his spiritual journey.
An avid outdoorsman, whether he was in the woods or by a stream, Charles appreciated the great outdoors and the moments he cherished hunting and enjoying the peace.
Charles dedicated over 50 years of his life to the HVAC industry, making a significant impact through his work with A & N Electric and the Crossett Service Co. His commitment to his craft and his strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
After retiring, Charles embraced a more leisurely pace of life, relishing the simple pleasures of relaxation. His favorite spot was undoubtedly his recliner, where he spent countless hours surrounded by the love of his family and the comfort of his home.
Known for his strength, hardworking nature, and generosity, Charles never met a stranger. His warm smile and welcoming spirit left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by four sons, Terry, Todd, Mark, and Tim Harmon; one granddaughter, Olivia Bailee Adkins; one great-granddaughter, Maisie Simmons; and his beloved fur baby, Patch.
He leaves behind his wife of sixty-one years, Ethelyn Harris Harmon of Crossett; one daughter, Jennifer Adkins (Steve) of Odessa, TX; one brother, Jack Harmon (Lynda) of Guy, AR; and one daughter-in-law, Donna Harmon of Bigelow, AR; along with five grandchildren, Kailyn Johnson (Brad), Justin Harmon (Tanya) and Sarah Harmon (Ty), and Lexie and Alea Adkins; two great-grandchildren, Eli Simmons and Slayden Harmon; two special brother-in-laws, Leonard Green and Jim Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 12th, at the First Church of God, 1501 Main St., in Crossett, with Bro. Mike Neal and Tim Evans, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Chic Sipes, Danny Smith, David Walker, Larry Linder, Tommy Sturgeon, and Brad Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Charles’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Monday, at the church prior to the service.
