Chere Ann Harris Clingen, 52, of Crossett, died Monday, October 5, 2020, at her home. She was born on March 10, 1968, in Bastrop, LA to her parents, Charlie Harris Sr. and Carol Ann Middlebrooks Harris. Chere was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Community Church.
Chere was known for her big heart, her honest and outspoken personality, and always being the center of attention. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of her family, especially during the holidays. Chere enjoyed going camping at her daughter Crista's, deer hunting, and crafting things such as wreaths and other home decor.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father-in-law Lemmie and Josephine Clingen; and one grandchild Justin Clinger Jr.
Chere is survived by her husband of 28 years, Author Manuel Clingen Sr.; two sons, Author Clingen, Jr, and fiancé, Heidi Davis, of Hamburg, and Justin Clingen and wife, Destiney, of Oak Grove, LA; three daughters, Rebecca Carrol and husband, James, of Oak Grove, LA, Crista Jackson and husband, Ricky, Jr. of Mer Rouge, LA, and Charlay Harris of Conway; three brothers, Charlie (Boog) Harris of Bastrop, La, Kirt Harris and wife, Sharon, also of Bastrop, Jody David Harris and wife, Susan, of Greenbrier; along with 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 8, at Pine Grove Community Church, 17678 Oscar Lum Rd, Bastrop, LA, with Bro. Doug Edwards officiating, followed by interment in Tillou Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Chris Alex, Nic Harris, Little Man, Drake Harris, Ricky Jackson, and Dalton Jackson. Honorary pallbearers are Author JR. (Bubba) and Justin Clingen.
Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, also at Pine Grove Community Church.
Medders Funeral Home is complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funerals and visitations according to the Arkansas Governor’s mandates. All attendees must provide and wear a face mask upon entering and comply with social distancing and sanitizing guidelines.
Temperatures will be scanned, and masks are required for entry.
Those that are considered high risk, running fever, or have been recently exposed to someone positive with COVID-19 are encouraged to stay home to protect themselves and others.
