October 14, 1942 ~ September 25, 2021 (age 78)

Chesley Howard Andrews, 78, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021.  He was born the youngest of ten children on October 14, 1942, to his parents, Arthur and Lily Duncan Andrews.  Chesley was raised working on a farm near Crossett and in 1960, he graduated from Crossett High School.

For several years, he worked for Georgia Pacific until moving to Ashdown in 1968.  At sixty-five years of age, he set aside his mechanic tools and finally retired from the Domtar Paper Company in Ashdown.

Chesley enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his yard and vegetable garden, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren and especially his great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny, Charles, Sam, and Henry Andrews; and three sisters, Betty McCoy, Maude Deggs, and Pauline Sharp.

He leaves behind one son, Chesley Andrews, Jr. (Michelle) of Crossett; one daughter, Julie Dixon (Danny) of Logansport, LA; and two sisters, Gail Chaney of Leesville, LA and Annie Nelson of Reno, NV; along with four grandchildren, Dana, Cassi, Maisie, and Annelise; and seven great-grandchildren, Amberlyn, Hanli, Kaibry, Ayden, Daxe, Brynn, and Ella.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 28th at the Hickory Grove Cemetery with Bro. Wesley Jackson, officiating.  Honorary pallbearers are Chris Clark, Jacob Smith, Jim Sharp, Roger Andrews, Aaron Smith, Chase Carter, and Danny Dixon.
